EFL in China and the Dragon Project of Teaching English

Visiting Chinese scholar to speak

The Literacy, Culture and Language Education Department (LCLE) is proud to announce a special talk on teaching English as a Foreign Language China on May 6th, 2009.

Professor Wenfang Fan from Tsinghua University in Beijing (one of the top two research universities in China) is the invited speaker.  Until recently, Professor Fan was the immediate past Chair of the English Department and is one of the members on the Chinese National Academic Research Board. Professor Fan is also the vice director-general of the National Elementary Foreign Education Research and Training Center in Beijing. Additionally, at Tsinghua, she is the director of two state-funded research projects namely, the research project on the Comprehensive Model of English Teaching and Learning at the Elementary School; and research on an Integrated EFL Model of Management at the Elementary, Middle School and the Tertiary Levels.
