Outreach Programs
Our Educational Leadership unit directs several programs. For example, the Educational Leadership faculty work with the Steering Committee of the Indiana University School Administrators Association (IUSAA), our unit's alumni association. Among its activities, IUSAA hosts receptions at various state and national professional meetings, provides partial support for a graduate student, and sponsors the Educational Leadership Annual Summer conference.
In addition, an Educational Leadership faculty member provides leadership for the Indiana Urban Schools Association (IUSA) located at IUPUI. Several other Educational Leadership faculty members also work closely with IUSA. Twenty-seven school corporations belong to IUSA. This organization promotes activities to advance urban education throughout the state and hosts a summer Urban Institute in Indianapolis.
Additional programs include three school study councils, the Indiana Public School/University Partnership, and the Beginning Superintendents' Seminars.
