Application Handbook Section 4
Creating the Paper Application for Student Teaching
Your paper application will be mailed to any combination of superintendents, principals, department chairs, and prospective supervising teachers. This document provides your "first impression" to these individuals, and they are likely to form an idea of your potential as a teacher and your professionalism by what they find.
It is in your best interest to prepare a neat and well-organized application. It should clearly present your experiences and accomplishments as a student as well as your ideas about teaching. Errors in grammar, spelling, and/or punctuation seriously detract from what may otherwise be a strong application; indeed, some applications have been rejected and returned to our office with mistakes circled by those individuals who have reviewed them. Proofread your application very carefully.
